Meet Krista
My name is Krista Wright the individual operator of K. Wright Healing. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. When I think of traditional therapy, I find it doesn’t always fit what we need. I believe we should strive to do better with how we help others and that starts with coming from a place of truly seeking to understand what another has been through from their perspective.
Therapy itself can be intimidating, particularly when it involves exploring your desires, needs, working through feelings of shame or guilt, and navigating boundaries. I understand how challenging it can be to address issues that may have been lingering for some time and recognize the importance of feeling safe and supported while attending therapy. I provide a safe and welcoming environment to all, where you are supported and empowered. I will offer a non-judgmental and empathetic ear as you bravely tell your story.
While I cannot erase the difficult times in your life, I can help you find the strength to move forward, walk beside you on the path to healing, and guide you towards living a fulfilling life you deserve. My approach to therapy is mindfully integrative and client focused. I do not believe in one size fits all approaches. I utilize evidence-based therapies such as emotion-focused individual and couples therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and eye movement desensitization therapy (EMDR).
Together we will identify the obstacles you are facing, work through stuck points, learn skills to build resilience to better cope with stressors, hardships, and be better prepared to navigate through problems in a positive, healthy manner for what is to come on your life's journey. This is such a fulfilling aspect of the work, seeing someone evolve and take ownership of their progress. It is incredibly rewarding to witness that shift, especially when individuals begin to recognize their own strength and resilience. Seeing themselves in a new light, not just as someone facing challenges, but as someone capable of navigating them.
